Precast Draping is a study of improvisation and material encounters in precast concrete design and fabrication. The project explores ways in which variation might extend beyond just the parametric form making of the digital platform into the material fabrication of the molds and concrete form.
Draping fabric on dress forms is used as both inspiration and technique. How might we still engage the scale of production that precast affords but maintain an active, improvisational fabrication process?
